Federal, state and local regulations require proper disposal of surplus electronic equipment because it is often environmentally hazardous. The Electronic Equipment Recycling State Term Contract was established by ITMO with the help of the South Carolina Department of Commerce, South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and the South Carolina Surplus Property Office to ensure the proper disposal of this equipment.
