where can I find schematic diagrams for electronic components?

I am having a hard time trying to find a database source or a company where I can look at a datasheet, view the pinout diagram, or access a downloadable pdf file for specific electronic components? There’s got to be website addresses that supply information like that for electronics hobbyists like me, and for professionals.

normally you would goto the manufacturers website to obtain these schematics – that is if the chips or components are what they consider public access – some are priveleged to manufacturers (ie: sony does nto want you having access to the schematic of chips manufactured by motorola)

google the component make or model number you might find them

You can try http://www.digikey.com/ . Type a part number in their search and chances are they either carry it, or at least have a data sheet to it, even if they don’t carry it.
