Where can I find electronic components in NYC?
Is there a good place to pick up electronic components in NYC (or nearby areas) that’s not Radio Shack?
You are usually better off using mail order, such as digikey.com. They can ship overnight, and have a vast selection of high quality components at very good prices.
The only time to use an electronics store would be if you forgot something, and cannot wait until tomorrow for it, yet the electronics store is both open and has what you need. Or maybe if you need to see and hold a part before you buy it, maybe some kind of box or enclosure. But remember, the mail order houses are happy to exchange parts if need be.
