another great vid! …
another great vid! if you like electronics exploding, do some googling or youtubing for ‘capacitor discharge’ and add things like ‘explosion’ or ‘melon’ to the search. there are guys dumping huge amounts of current and tens of thousands of volts through various things in the attempt to examine how much mess you can make per joule of juice

When I was a kid I …
When I was a kid I used to blow up electrolytic caps using the 12v PSU from my Scalextric set. It was fun but I would sit there for hours. I would find springs and use them to connect the two posts on the PSU and then burn all sorts of other things.

If the USA goes down…who will buy China’s poisonous canned food and polluted? plastic goods and toys besides fake drugs and fake electronic components? Self employment in USA means either selling fake products online from home or selling insurance or mortgage. America remains biggest consumer of pirated goods in world.

oh and a few years …
oh and a few years ago i used to wire LEDs in parallel with my speakers and they would light with the beat. at one time i turned the volume up and on the first kick half the LED flew across the room.
and now i’m designing and building my own amps, and they don’t blow up. things change hehe.

reminds me of me …
reminds me of me frying some old 4MB simm memory. it glowed red for a long long time and smelled really bad.
as for capacitors, the new vented ones aren’t much fun. they just fizz and that’s it. but the old ones… next thing you know you’ll find cardboard and foil all over the place.
speaking of which i have a joke. Q: how do you recognize a failed romanian (or russian for that matter) capacitor? A: it disappeared.
